DAB Hankow branch |
 |
DAB's participation in "Deutsche Hankow Niederlassungsgesellschaft" led to the establishment of an agency in 1897 in the European-influenced trading metropolis on the Yangtze River (now Chang Jiang). Until 1906, when the branch was able to move into the building shown here, work was carried out in rented rooms. In 1910, the agency was converted into a branch. Starting in 1938, Hankow was under the Japanese sphere of influence. The bank building was completed destroyed in the Second World War, and the branch was wound down in 1945.
